Water-Climate-Society: Assessing Risks in a Changing Hydrological Landscape

I study the changing hydrological cycle, with a focus on hydroclimatic extremes, their drivers, and associated societal risks. By integrating Earth system models with multi-source datasets, my work enhances the predictability of these events and evaluates their long-term shifts.

Particularly,
1) I study extreme precipitation trends and patterns at spatial scales ranging from regional to continental using multi-source datasets, e.g., satellite data, in-situ observations, and global climate projections

2) I study how anthropogenic climate change influences the intensity and frequency of the rarest rainfall events using Earth system modeling approaches.

3) I evaluate the performance and accuracy of gridded precipitation products. In what ways do the distinct underlying frameworks—specifically satellite retrieval structures, reanalysis physical assumptions, and ensemble algorithms—affect the accuracy of gridded precipitation products in complex terrain?
